About - A little insight into who we are

Photographer's Bio

Mark’s passion for photography and people is what started him on this venture. As you will see from the images he creates, the personalities of those he photographs is truly displayed. What drives Mark to create such unique and special portraits for his clients? He believes that his clients are unique individuals and their portrait should convey that.

He believes a portrait is only a window to a person’s soul. One can look in, but it’s not until one opens the door, do they really get to know a person. Mark strives to create long-lasting friendships with everyone he photographs.

Mark and his wife are native to Kansas and make their home in Newton. This part of the country is his home and he loves the food, the culture, and the wide open space that Kansas offers.

A portrait, by definition, should portray. It should go beyond showing just a view of a face, it should reveal the personality of a person. Anyone with a camera can take a “picture”, but it takes a special degree of creativity to make an image that stirs the emotion of the viewer.

“Our portraits exceeded
our wildest expectations!”

This is the goal we have for everyone who lays, sits, crawls or stands before our camera - to bring out the inner beauty and personality each of us has. It might mean showing the closeness of a family, the bonding between Mother and Child, the innocence of childhood, the purity of a newborn baby, or the love a bride and groom have for each other.

“Mark treated us like
we were Royalty”

The key to the success of your portrait lies in spending time prior and during the photography session talking about your needs, your desires, your fears and your objectives. The more prepared we both are for your session, the easier it will be for you to be relaxed, look better and receive from us a portrait you will be proud to own or give as a gift. We are a full-service studio providing custom designed coffee-table style books to art gallery quality wall portraits.

“We heartily recommend
Visual Memories to anyone looking
to get some great images.”

When we started our business in 2000, we aspired to produce the finest photography we were capable of, without compromise. We have never regretted that decision and neither have our clients. Quality does not go out of style. It costs less in the long run, and is always appreciated by those who know the difference. You see—a portrait you truly love is priceless...and one that you hate, is worthless!
